At EFI we believe it is essential to encourage environmentally benign and sustainable use of our planet's energy and water resources. Each year EFI sets aside a portion of the organization's revenue to support the work of EFI's member organizations, other organizations, and educational institutions in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and resource conservation. EFI is a able to provide modest financial grants to organizations in support of initiatives through which EFI's support may be able to help stimulate ongoing, long-term change. EFI is particularly interested in supporting innovative approaches that will produce measurable results. This fund is not intended to provide support to individuals, or help cover the costs of remodeling projects or other types of energy efficiency-related upgrades.

Mission-Related Grants: EFI grants will generally range from $500 to $2500 per project, though larger requests will be considered. Requests may be submitted any time, with requests for less than $2,500 being reviewed quarterly, and requests for $2,500 or more reviewed semi-annually.

Organizations may submit requests for financial support through our online application or through the submission of a written proposal. If submitting a written proposal, please limit the document to not more than 3 pages (normal margins, double-spaced, 10-12 point font), and submit it it as a pdf or Word document grants@efi.org. Please be sure to provide the organization name, contact person, mailing address, phone number, email address, type of organization, the amount of money being requested, your program objectives (explicitly stating how the objectives apply to the goals of EFI's fund as stated above), other sources of funding (be specific), and additional information that will help EFI evaluate your request.

Product Donations: In addition to financial support, EFI makes donations of individual or small quantities of products to nonprofit organizations and educational institutions through an alternate process.
