Director, Workflow/Process Improvement & Strategic Projects

Energy Federation, Inc., a national leader in promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy is looking for a Director of Workflow/Process Improvement and Strategic Projects. The successful candidate will lead or participate in cross functional teams focused on a strategic initiatives to redesign, streamline, and improve internal processes and workflows. Overall responsibility for delivery of new efficiencies in the metric of reduced cycle time and expense.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate  cross functional resources while building a collaborative environment
  • Develop and manage a business plan to achieve completion of targeted strategic initiative.
  • Ensure alignment of project scope and objectives with the organizations strategic objective.
  • Monitor scope requirements and identifies scope-related gaps and issues
  • Obtain agreement on project scope from applicable stakeholders, and ensure that requirements sign-off is obtained.
  • Effectively lead teams to improve and streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies
  • Measure and monitor efficiency gains obtained through new effort.
  • Ensure that all project deliverables and success criteria are identified.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including resource assignments and dependencies.
  • Work with managers to drive the identification of the skills, duration and effort required for successful project execution (e.g. resource demand planning).
  • Ensure that resources are acquired to meet project requirements, escalating for assistance where gaps exist
  • Ensure that project schedules include all tasks and activities necessary to achieve project objectives.
  • Adhere to applicable project planning processes/methodologies in order to ensure that all required project resources are aligned and available.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • MBA plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field is preferred.​
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated project implementation experience on business process re-engineering or operational improvements projects using industry standard methods and tools for managing schedules, dependencies, resources, funding and developing technical specifications and project plans is required.​
  • PMP or other PM Certification is desirable.
  • Six Sigma certification is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning for assigned work streams, managing priorities, deliverables and milestones; identifying and tracking project issues, risks, decisions and action items is required.​
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the full Microsoft Office suite – Microsoft Office 2007, and 2010 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) is required.​
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project, including familiarity with the fundamental operation, function, and workflow of Microsoft Project in regard to timelines, dependencies, deliverables, milestones, and resources is required.​
  • Demonstrated experience with Visio flowcharts and MS Powerpoint presentation is required.​
  • Experience in a utility organizations and industry is desirable.​
