Shopping cart abandonment — when shoppers put items in their online shopping carts, but then leave before completing the purchase — can be a headache for any online retailer. The site analytics is displaying that everything is running smoothly, but once they reach the cart, the customer abandons ship! In the whirlwind of life, the customer's attention can be swept away within a matter of seconds. EFI was asking, "how can we regain their focus?"  Fortunately, we found a way and it is easily recoverable! Consistent customer engagement is a key asset to having a successful marketplace, even if it means keeping up with ones average busy life schedule. A friendly reminder can improve engagement, sales, and savings!

While our utility branded stores convert well above eCommerce averages, we regularly recommend deploying a reminder email one hour after an item has been left in a customer’s cart. Since we deployed the reminder email, of the 15,000 emails sent, over 40,000 products were reclaimed. Our goal was to recover at least $1 million in abandoned cart product. To date, we are trending closer to $2.5 million!
